Where is the Outrage

Anti-Bullock ‘Hanoi Jane’ TV ad a stretch, at best
A currently televised “anti-Bullock-for Senate” ad contains a Vietnam War veteran (thank You for your service, sir) suggesting that he cannot support Steve Bullock, as “Hanoi Jane(Fonda)” has donated to Gov. Bullock’s campaign for the U.S. Senate. “Hanoi Jane” embarked on her visit to North Vietnam in 1972, I believe. Making any connection whatsoever of Steve Bullock to Fonda’s almost half a century old action(s) is a stretch, at best. Steve Bullock was probably in kindergarten at that time. He was born in 1966.
And, in 1968 — when Bullock was a toddler — President Donald Trump was about 22 years old and was reportedly benefitting from multiple educational military deferments and a “diagnosis” of foot ailments, all of which enabled him to avoid military service during the Vietnam era.
The intended beneficiary of the above mentioned campaign ad is Sen. Steve Daines, who openly and vigorously supports President Donald Trump.
Our current political situation sure makes for some very strange bedfellows, and we definitely live in extremely “interesting” times. Good luck to us all. As common sense
seems to be out the window, we’re most likely going to need all the luck we can get.

GOP will back Trump’s plans to gut Social Security
President Donald Trump announced on August 8 of this year that he is ordering the federal government to cease collecting Social Security payroll taxes for the majority of workers for the rest of
the year. He has also said that if he wins another term as president he intends to make this change permanent. That move would quickly gut the Social Security trust fund and end the most successful government program in U.S. history. For those of us who like to eat every day and sleep indoors this is very bad news.
Greg Gianforte has also expressed the view there is no need for Social Security or health care; we can work for 600 years. Steve Daines seems to be on the same page regarding health care.
When we receive our mail ballots next month, it would be wise for every Montanan to reject Trump’s sycophants Daines, Gianforte and Rosendale. If you’re a billionaire, Daines and Gianforte
will be looking out for you; for the rest of us, not so much. And carpetbagger Matt Rosendale looks out for no one but himself.

Where is outrage regarding Confederate flags?
I was horrified recently to see several vehicles parading down Main Street Bozeman flying the Confederate flag, alongside Trump and American flags. The Confederate flag is a flag of oppression, intimidation and of traitors to the Union. Are the people who fly these three flags together unable to see how they are incompatible? Where is the outrage from local Republicans of these displays of racism and intimidation?
