Economic issues were a primary concern for voters without a college degree in the 2024 election and have been so in many other recent elections. Most voters without a college degree supported Donald Trump in the 2024 election, continuing a recent trend of working-class voters leaving the Democratic Party.

There are many possible explanations for these developments, including long-term wage stagnation as well as short-term inflation and long-term cost increases; the economic brands of both parties; economic policy choices; and the importance of noneconomic issues. Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for a discussion about how the economy and economic policy affect working Americans.

Please join the Center for American Progress Action Fund for an event featuring Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and an expert panel on how the economy and economic policy shape the preferences of working-class voters. Virtual, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 9-10:15am, MDT.
