Tester has consistently stood for keeping public lands in public hands and for finding ways to protect our access to them. Rosendale is a self-professed supporter of transferring our public lands to the state where they inevitably would be sold off to private owners. In a 2014 statement in the Missoulian Rosendale said, “I have long been on the record as an advocate for the transfer of federal public lands to the state.”
